need for speed

Two nights ago, while I was going to sleep, my housemate kiko knocked on my door and told me he had finally finished the book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. Of course that meant it was my turn. :) So I picked up the book and started reading like crazy. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I made sure I know what time I started.
After 5 hours my eyes were really tired, so I slept. And when I woke up I started reading again. for another 5 hours straight. Whew! The 759 page book cost me 10 hours. (check out my other story about this)
While I was reading I was listening to the radio and the DJ was saying some newspapers hired speed readers when the book 7 came out just to be the first to review the book. Another fan actually read it in record time -47 mins! This reader, Mrs. Jones, from Ireland, was a world speed reader champ!
It seems that some people can really read that fast, and there I was, I thought I was fast. :( Maybe I'll try to best them..but in time. in time..For now, let me study it first.

new wonders

I've been reading a lot of forums lately and its all about the 7 new wonders of the world. People have their own bets on who will be counted as such. Critics are saying t he voting is limited to people who has internet and telephone access. Just try to imagine people in impoverished places having a really 'wonderful' site but no means to vote. But actually I think its a nice idea to actually let people all over the world have a say in what can be considered as the greatest achievements of our time.
I do have my personal favorites, but here are the winner according to the official website.
1. Great Wall of China
2. Petra, Jordan
3. Christ Redeemer, Brazil
4. Machu Picchu, Peru
5.
Chichén Itzá, Mexico
6. Roman Colosseum, Italy
7. Taj Mahal, India

Funny I also checked the world population and it seems that these countries are listed as well..Is it coincidence or what?

got milk?

My good friend allan and I went to Friuli's, an italian resto in front of Ababu (a persian resto) in our neighboorhood. We ordered carbonara and cheese pizza, even when we knew that he is lactose intolerant.
After eating and a smoke, i felt rumbling in my stomach and i was sweating..In short i had a diarrhea. It happened before as well, when I ate baked ziti. Does it mean I have lactose intolerance?
I know there's a certain brand of milk that gave me diarrhea when I was a kid and whenever I am constipated I only need to drink chocolate and I'm well. Uhh..That's not a good sign isn't it?
I googled it of course, and I found a website that says it cannot be diagnosed based on symptoms.
I think I just have to be careful in what I eat. Maybe my stomach doesnt like italian foods. LOL
